Development of Kibworth Recycling and Household Waste Site

Leicestershire County Council have secured planning permission to redevelop the existing recycling and household waste site located on Harborough Road (A6) near Kibworth.

The council, as a Waste Disposal Authority, has a statutory obligation to provide recycling centres for the disposal of household waste under section 51 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. The council operates 14 recycling centres across the County.

RHWS operations are subject to the compliance with a Waste Management Licence/Environmental Permit issued by the Environment Agency (EA). The permit sets certain requirements to prevent damage to the surrounding environment through mitigation of pollution incidents.
